“I– Sorry,” Donna softly replied, averting her eyes from the other woman’s gaze. “I’m not exactly the person who I used to be.”

Loki took a moment to wipe off a few droplets of blood from his jacket, straightening his clothing and smoothing back his hair, before exiting the dark alley. He stepped onto the sidewalk, going no more than a block before he arrived at the brightly lit Indian restaurant. He pushed open the door, smiling at the host brightly.

“Please, do not trouble yourself. I am only meeting someone. She should have arrived, by now...” He stepped into the dining area, scanning the handful of occupied tables, before his eyes landed upon a young woman, sitting alone, and looking rather nervous. He strode over to her table with confidence, stepping up beside her.

“You must be Molly, yes? I apologize, but Raphael will not be joining you tonight. Trust me when I tell you, this is the more favourable outcome.”

     “So, how have things been lately ? “ Donna asked, a smirk on her lips as she watched her friend.        “What about that guy you told me about ?    The one who doesn’t seem to notice you. Any progress ? “

  “I may have made a few suggestions, but I didn’t do it all.” He had help with the more complicated decorations…and may have had too much fun doing it. John smiled sweetly, “If you’re wanting something madam, you’re very well on your way to getting your way.”

  John appreciating the buttering and all, but what would make all of this more enjoyable, would be if she and anyone else that were not taking advantage of the company of others dancing or any other sort of socializing. John’s job was to be helping make more connections among any of the people who had power, actual power through position or just by words and connections. Really, the dance could be exhausting.

  But may a small break.

  “My Lady, would you honor me with a dance?”
