As a Product Designer, looking for the most effective and efficient design solution is the key to a successful product. Most of my work is based around natural design; how can nature be incorporated and utilized in order to create more effective and efficient product design solutions? I am a strong believer in natural design and look forward to a near 100% sustainable and eco-friendly future.
“I think the biggest innovations of the 21st century will be at the intersection of biology and technology. A new era is beginning.” – Steve Jobs (2011).
Projects
My field project is a high chair toy which focuses on the interaction between the child and toy. The product features different shapes, sizes, colours and movements which all play a role in developing the child’s sensory development during play. The product is also features sustainable design, incorporating eco-friendly materials throughout manufacture as well as using minimal packaging.
The subject project features an eco-friendly smartphone charging device and mount designed especially for cyclists. The product utilizes potential energy from passing wind as you cycle which juices up your smartphone on the go. When mounted onto a bicycle for easy viewing and access, using your smartphone for functions such as GPS, music or more can be done without the worry of excess battery drainage.
