stolen from pinterest, i didn’t realize that rickaert had been on corendon/alpecin since 2019. gives more context for that tour stage this year perhaps. and also he’s only one year older than mathieu???

What an absolutely monster ride from Mathieu and Jonas Rickaert. Unbelievable. I wanted him to win so much after such a plan and such an effort--but this was one of the most heartful rides I've seen since I got interested in this sport this time last year <3 and I only saw just over an hour of it live. And the fact that Kaden Groves is 10th in this stage has to mean something points-wise or at least ride-wise? Was he up with "ship's prow" Silvan the whole way?
