An OC sketch and some lighting practice. Trying to shake the rust off cause I haven't drawn for a hot minute, and because drawing an OC every once in awhile is required for my emotional well being.

Jonathan Aster: 

A man in his early 20's with a normal life and a normal nondescript desk job who has recently started experiencing nightmares, hallucinations, and even distressing bouts of sleepwalking. His attempts to (discreetly) seek professional psychiatric help have so far failed to relieve these problems. This is because these issues, in his case at least, are not due to onset mental illness, but a sudden unlocking of inherent magical ability. His nightmares are prophetic visions, his "hallucinations" clue him in to the hidden natures of his surroundings, and his sleep walking moves him to the right places and actions to avoid unfortunate events. However, magic or any other explanation aside from loosening sanity is a possibility that Jonathan absolutely refuses to consider. By his logic, since he is usually able to discern his visions from reality, he is still manageably right-minded. But the moment he justifies these hallucinations as anything else is the moment he completely loses his grip on sanity, and this notion completely terrifies him. 

Jonathan has always been a rather anxious and jumpy person, and recent events have only exasperated these traits. He is very polite, even if sometimes only outwardly, and very concerned of other's impression of him. He is also very, very tired, and longs for a full night of dreamless sleep. 

Random facts: His favorite hobby is baking, he bites his nails, and he has to wear contacts.

Some days during Inktober you just gotta make something, even if it's not what you wanted to make and you don't like the outcome. This was one of those days.
