Round 1: Choose your rarepair!
Blaine Colt (Kid Colt)/Jonathan Clay (Rawhide Kid)
Dane Whitman (Black Knight)/Steven Grant (Moon Knight)
RAWHIDE KID (vol. 1) #39 (April, 1964). Cover pencilled by Jack Kirby, inked by Chic Stone, colored by Stan Goldberg and lettered by Artie Simek.
It being the Silver Age, Marvel took a page out of DC's book (which stated that books with apes on the cover sold better) and had this King Kong-wannabe terrorize the Old West.
And despite being a Jack Kirby fan, I can't help but wonder why all the buildings are drawn so small in relation to the people. It's like everyone's playing in a cowboy town built for little kids.
