Out of curiosity, what were Sullivan’s, Amicia’s, and Kara’s backstories? Specifically their time with the Sabbat. Were they any of the ones listed out in the Night Road game or were they original?
... Sorry anon, bad news, but the question you've asked has an answer which is actually a bit complicated.
(Okay it's not REALLY, but you got me talking and I talked far more than you probably actually WANTED. SORRY NOT SORRY)
So basically you gotta keep something in mind: Amicia and Kara were made by @nightingaletrash, and Sullivan is mine. They are all the childer of Millicent Rue, much like the canonical Lasombra courier from Night Road. They were all shovelheads, and after two years and her third surviving fledgling Millicent went "fuck it, I have three kids now, I'm never doing this again." After Millicent basically ditched the three of them, to survive, Kara went into working with artefacts, and Amicia and Sullivan became couriers. Kara would eventually be reunited with her biological daughter, who's a Ravnos named Evie (who you've probably seen me talk about -- Sullivan dotes on her), and at some point Amicia moved to Seattle, started a blood den, and became sexually and later romantically involved with Prince Cross.
That's where the simple bit ends.
Oh boy this guy would give Jonathan a hell of a run for his money, and given that he's an independent ghoul Jonathan might actually run into him one day, given his work with ghouls.
Sometimes I get Feelings about Jonathan and his huge network of ghouls, and his Papa Wolf tendencies towards them.
Like. He settles in Seattle and Prince Cross (let’s pretend that he’s still in charge after 2100 and Sullivan is at least semi-settled there by then) wants this newcomer to fall in line. Jonathan hates Kindred and refuses. Sullivan tries to step in to get this resolved without it ending in Jonathan’s destruction, pointing out to Jonathan that he can’t help his ghouls if he’s dead, and that as much as he hates Kindred, he’s part of their world now and his best bet at surviving is by keeping his head down and not making waves. Telling Prince Cross to go to hell is the opposite of that.
He offers a compromise - Jonathan helps set up useful ghouls with new masters and Sullivan will lean on Amicia or Cross to get Cross to let him be.
But Jonathan, while appreciating that Sullivan is trying to help him, still refuses. He’s not going to set his ghouls up to be enslaved or abused. His ghouls trust him, he’s not going to abuse that.
Sullivan’s like, “You can’t tell me that they enjoy not knowing where their next fix is coming from. They’re independent so you can’t tell me they’re ghouled to YOU. I know you refuse to give them your own vitae except once every few months to prevent them getting hooked.”
Jonathan just says, no, they don’t enjoy it. But that would just make taking advantage of that even worse.
Almost at my stop but… maybe Jonathan agrees to do favours for Cross in exchange for vials of vitae from different Kindred. Not sure if Cross would go with that tho.
Sometimes I remember that I made Jonathan Grey to be stupid gorgeous, and then realise it means that Sullivan is also stupid gorgeous
@nightingaletrash OK but Alec and Amicia being a Thing could result in so much awkwardness bc in my head, Meredith became a sort of secretary figure to Alec Cross, and she was the wife of Jonathan (aka the original Sullivan).
So now I'm imagining how goddamn awkward it would be if he's going to visit Cross on business with Madame de LaCroix and his friggen wife is there.
