An Interview with Dr. Vern Poythress (by Jonathan Petersen) How can we faithfully read and understand Genesis 1-3? What are the implications related to divine authorship, historical background, genre and structure, and chronology?
“For God so [greatly] loved and dearly prized the world, that He [even] gave His [One and] only begotten Son, so that whoever believes and trusts in Him [as Savior] shall not perish, but have eternal life.” When we read the familiar verse John 3:16, do we ponder in awe of how deep, wide, long, and high God’s love is for us? Do we consider the magnificent living hope we have through Jesus’ death and resurrection? Do we rest in the assurance that salvation is a wonderous gift from God, not something we can earn?
