i was so excited to get to joncon in my first reread bc i really didn't remember anything about her and her adwd chapters really blew me away. i really think some of the series' most breathtaing prose belongs to her.
unpopular opinion i do not like the jokes people make about joncon's unrequited love for rhaegar. idk i guess i'm just touchy about unrequited love in general maybe i'm a huge baby whatever. but i don't find the really harsh ribs about how pathetic she was for being in love with him amusing. maybe because her being in love with and totally devoted to rhaegar was written in a way that moved me really deeply but idk. i find these rly ubiquitous jokes harsh and distasteful and i don't care for them.
