the day is finally here - Selfless, my new album, is now officially out on Constellation Records. this is my first physical release, and with a label - not only can you hear my album, you can actually own a copy this time!

eternal love and gratitude to Natalie, Ayuko, Ogun and Ky, for making the songs exist, and to Constellation for making the album happen - and a multitude of other friends that would take forever to list, who have supported me and this album during the process, and helped its existence.

i hope you'll feel this album - it is a much more cathartic, abstract, dark approach to my music, compared to my previous output, but definitely is more cohesive, conceptual and thematic. it is more of a work of editing and collage than musical composition/traditional song-writing. the album is intended to represent an out-of-body experience, through any means necessary - music, cinema, art, death, drugs, mental or physical illness... it is a "projection", in the various meanings of the word. despite the title, it is definitely a very personal, very thought-out body of work, filled with meanings and details that are hidden in multiple layers of subjectivity.

oh and i've gotten more press today than in my 7 previous years of making music lol

this one is very special - today also happens to be Delia Derbyshire's 80th birthday, which you might know is my personal goddess, so this is the most wonderful coincidence I could ask for. for the occasion, The Quietus are premiering a Selfless outtake, Li De La, which is (almost) entirely made from a Delia Derbyshire piece, "Circle Of Light", and the title is one of her pseudonyms.
