FEB 08: FAVOURITE DIGIMON PARTNER
Gomamon is my favourite!
I just love the dynamic between him and Joe, because it’s so unique among the digimon partners. Gomamon is very different from Jou and doesn’t necessarily treat his partner with just adoration and worship. Yeah, he adores Jou and supports him no matter what, but he also challenges Jou, he tries to make him loosen up and have fun, and isn’t afraid to tease him.
Jou is one of the characters who really suppresses a lot of his true self because of external and internal pressures, so being around Gomamon (who represents the side of him that is fun and childish) is exactly what he needed to grow up and become more comfortable with his authentic self.
Gomamon is also cheeky AF, something I appreciate. He has the biggest personality out of the original Digimon partners. I still LMAO thinking of this moment:
Such a perfect representation of the Jou/Gomamon dynamic! I just love the idea of this deep love between two (apparent) opposites. (Their storyline in Chapter 2 of tri. was so freaking good.)
