Nekromantik (1987) Rob is a street cleaner who removes dead bodies at crime scenes. His life is about to change in ways he couldn’t have imagined when he enters a twisted love triangle. Nekromantik is shocking, that’s to say the least, I had my reservations about watching this from the start but in the name of film decided to do so, I’m still not sure if it was a good or bad idea! From the mind of Jorg Buttgereit this crazy film is an absolute battering of your head for 72 minutes. It’s one clubbing after another of some horrific imagery and disgusting situations. The acting is dedicated, I’ll give em that, and makes for a hell of a sadistic show! The film doesn’t really have a narrative, but it’s ideas that have a 5 minute spell talking about desensitisation and the links between death etc are quite interesting... it’s just there’s only really a couple of times you get them! The soundtrack is really good, it’s probably one of the best things about the film, the whimsical and quite happy score goes alongside some grisly scenes which makes it all feel normal... in an eerie way! There’s not much I can say really in terms of not giving away the film, or not bringing up your dinner, it’s a see it to believe it type of job which is something I probably wouldn’t suggest! Overall, if you’re a fan of this kinda stuff, or your morbid curiosity has gotten the better of you, give it a watch, everyone else id steer clear, but just be known, you’ve been warned! S'il y a bien un film étrange et beau c'est bien celui-là : Le Roi des Morts aka der Todesking du réalisateur allemand Jorg Buttgereit. Dans les années 90 plus particulièrement 1995, j'avais 19 ans et je lisais la revue Mad Movies, et les petites annonces et, je collectionnais comme beaucoup les VHS rares et horreurs, cultes et d'auteurs en passant par le trash, les shockumentary et l'underground. Avec l'aide de cinéphiles equipés de 2 magnétoscopes. Pourquoi me direz-vous ? Parce que ça ne passait jamais jamais jamais à la télévision. Et le fait de les voir après en avoir entendu parler, frôlait le secret, l'interdit, la contre-bande, le choc, incontournable incontrôlable, néfaste, pire... Et pleins d'autres superlatifs...donc collectionnable ! Les vidéoclubs étaient en train de mourir, emportant avec eux le mot de la Curiosité. Car il est rare de tomber par hasard sur un bon film trash et bien réalisé, l'un n'étant pas du tout complémentaire de l'autre, comme être punk et bien chanter. Bref ! Je vous conseille ce film ainsi que tous les autres de ce réalisateur et je vous laisse découvrir son univers. Vous êtes grands maintenant, internet existe. Cette cassette vidéo est une édition espagnole (sous-titres en espagnol) mais le film est présenté en version originale (donc en allemand)
