How I feel about this character
In canon I don't,,,, really like him? But I love love love the fanon version of him and fics where we can explore what he would've been like sans-apotheosis/given a second chance. Generally a very interesting, if somewhat unlikeable, minor villain.

My unpopular opinion about this character
I think the fandom largely erases his negative traits because "uwu robert manion science gay" like,,,, his flaws are what make him so interesting. You can still explore them even if you want to redeem him. He's not perfect, stop treating him as such.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.
I would've loved to hear that original story about him being an infectious disease researcher. I feel like it would've really solidified his motivations and made it harder to remove his flaws from his character.
