I love this scene so much. They were Mr Keating's boys and even if nothing else showed that, this moment did.
June 2, 1989 - On this day in RSL history, Dead Poets Society was released in the US.
"Everybody needs money. Everybody. Medical research, hospitals, schools, animal shelters, day care centers, boy scouts, girl scouts, all kinds of scouts…I'd love to give money to all these people, but then I'd have no money and I'd need somebody's mailing list just to pay rent. I'm inactive. I don't act. I talk a pretty good game, but in the end I just sit there completely inactive... What do I do?" Sports Night, s1e9
finally that time of year 🍂🤍
Dead Poets Society (1989)
the way gale hansen vs. josh charles ended up is sooo funny to me. of course the actor who played an adventurous, out-going, boundary-pushing, (secret) sweetheart of a character turns out to be one of the happiest, most accepting people in hollywood. and the one who sexually assaulted a girl who was asleep at a party is the devil who doxxes people (often minors) online when they have different opinions from him. now guess which is which!
Do you guys think the dps cast knows how batshit crazy we are? Do you think RSL knows how many people seriously mourn Neil Perry every day? Do you think Allelon Ruggiero even remembers saying Meeks died in Vietnam? Do you think he knows that that's pretty much been accepted as canon? Does Dylan Kussman know how many people quote DPINYC over and over again? Do you think Josh Charles (ew) knows how many people completely despise his character? Do you think Lara Flynn Boyle knows how many people adore her character that's only major scene was cut from the film? Do you think they even know (besides Gale Hansen, he knows all about this) how gay we all are? Do they know how hundreds of thousands of people saw Todd and Neil and went "Oh, boyfriends. Duh." Do you think they know?
