Considering alternate forms of ‘fabric’ in preparation for my trip to Japan and looking at the plastic bag embroidery of Josh Blackwell. Great playful use of color and unusual, haphazard composition -- as if the bags were placed and immediately stitched as they were found in the environment. I suppose there is no great way to flatten out a plastic bag for stitching, but still the placement of these feels spontaneous.
