Movie Review: Safe Haven (2013)

The film is based on Nicholas Sparks’ best selling fiction novel of the same title. I don’t usually go for romantic movies nowadays because it just makes me ‘eeehk’ 🥴 but this was recommended to me by a friend AND the hot + charming Josh Duhamel is one of the lead so why not 🤷🏻‍♀️

I’ve watched a few Nicholas Sparks movie adaptation and this one passed the vibe. The story was easy to follow and I liked the setting of the film. The locations were peaceful and breezy. It reminded me of summer. I didn’t read the book though so I’m not sure if the story is exactly as it is in the book but I enjoyed watching this for sure; it makes your heart throb— the good and the bad kind. Although, I kind of expected the surprise ending so it didn’t come as a shock to me but nonetheless had my tears falling 🥺

Josh Duhamel did a good job portraying his character Alex, the sweet sensible guy 🤩 so did Julianne Hough as Katie 💗 and let’s not forget Colbie Smulders as Jo 😉

An example of costars flirting but NOT being in a romantic relationship...

So, yesterday, Eiza Gonzalez, Sam’s costar in his upcoming movie “Bloodshot” tagged him in an IG pic she posted. In the pic she is scantily dressed in workout gear, looking hot. She’s a bit flirty, and Sam answers back, also a bit flirty. BUT, guess what? Their behavior is NORMAL Hollywood stuff when two ACTORS are trying to form a working bond and more importantly, trying to already PROMOTE their movie. Notice she also tagged the other costar Vin Diesel, she tagged Nike AND she mentioned the movie. Boom, that’s how PR is done. If Cait had done this, Extreme Shippers would have shown it as “proof” of a relationship with Sam…when in the real world it is clear that this is just what actors do. The same way when Sam and Cait flirt…it’s just what actors do. Simple as that.

So the interaction above occurred, and I’m sure it will continue to occur all throughout filming of Bloodshot, as well as throughout the promotional tour afterward…yet…Eiza is actually in a real life relationship with actor, Josh Duhamel. Huh…kind of like how Cait and Sam flirt because they are actors and fun, flirty, costars…yet…Cait is engaged to Tony, and Sam is dating Mackenzie. The real world…it’s not that hard to understand…but you gotta  take off your tinhat to see it. That’s all.
