@stthomaspubliclibrary I’m not someone who would be called a Pollyana when it comes to discussing the trajectory of human existence on our planet. It is my fear that it will take a crisis, likely of global proportion, before many world leaders (certainly those in North America), will make changes that will have sufficient impact. As we watch the children of Europe and around the world take Climate Change matters in their own hands, it is frustrating to see so little positive momentum in North America. But all is not lost. Josh and the Kiss the Ground movement focus on hope and the possibilities of change. These solution-focused soil advocates are proponents of rejuvenation and regenerative agriculture. I’m part of a local group gathering to explore community-based and sustainable lifestyles, connecting with each other to offer support and to learn from each other. I’ve learned that a substantive reduction in greenhouse gases via carbon sequestering is a real possibility. And even functional zero is attainable (the volume of new pollution being added to the environment is not greater than the volume that can be removed– it’s not a reduction, but it's also not an increase). So there’s lots of hope and, following the lead from Josh and his crew, many positive initiatives we all can stand behind and support. -Neil @neilhubert137 @kisstheground #worldwaterday #kisstheground #joshtickell #climatechange #climatehope #hope #activism #soiladvocate #globalwarming#regeneration #sttont #stthomaspubliclibrary #ldnont #stpl #stthomasproud #librariesofinstagram #books #instabooks #bookish #bookblogger #bookstagramfeatures #reading #bookstagram #bookaddict #bibliophile #ya #amreading #explorerailwaycity (at St. Thomas Public Library) https://www.instagram.com/p/BvVN2UsH8Hr/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=l3p0jhzeqqnb
