Josh Voorhees {Birthday Drabble}
Josh slowly woke to the sound of light knocking on his door. He inhaled deeply and blinked a couple of times. He rolled over on to his back as the last of his sleep left his eyes. He smiled brightly as he sat up. Josh sighed and rested his elbows on his knees. The knocking continued.
"I'm up! You can stop knocking now!" he called. And shortly afterward, the knocking stopped. Josh kicked his covers off and headed for the bathroom. After getting cleaned up and dressed, he headed out to meet with his dad. He wondered around the old, forgotten summer camp looking for him. Ever quietly stalking around, he was a hard one to find, unless he found you. And he did. Josh's father walked up behind him and placed a hand on his shoulder. Josh jumped, before realizing it was just his dad. He calmed down and laughed a little. He turned. "Hey, dad." Josh said. His father patted his shoulder and gestured at one of the building farther away. Josh nodded. "Alright."
The father and son duo headed over. They were working on fixing up the old building in the camp. Since they had to live there, it made sense. They got to work quickly. Josh was off on his own, working on smaller, more delicate things. As he worked, his dad came up to him and tapped Josh's foot with his own. Josh peeked out from under in sink he was working on and gave his dad a confused look. "What's up?" He asked as he sat up. His dad reached behind himself, pulled out a small wrapped gift and handed it to Josh. Josh raised and eyebrow as he took it. "What's this?" he asked. His dad shook his head, saying that he wasn't gonna tell him. he gave his dad a look, then he face-palmed. "It's for my birthday, isn't it?" His dad nodded. Josh chuckled as he climbed to his feet. "Thanks, dad." He said wrapping his arms around his father.
