josibug replied to your post: god i have never been less in the mood to be...
We just finished and sent everyone home, and it was like we had won a war. I even fell asleep once. No marathon, no. It stopped being fun after 2 episodes. That was 10 hours ago.
like tbh i love the show and what episodes i *did* see were funny, like, i knew if i'd been in the right mood i'd be howling? but it was just NOT one of those nights. mostly i think im just going to wait five years until everyone finally shuts up about it again so i can enjoy it in peace
Re: Showing Tom Hardy films in my Intro to Sociology class.

I wish I’d taken YOUR course haha.
Aww. Well, it's only a 10wk course and classes are nearly 3hrs long. I figured I needed to change it up a bit and I hated all the old Sociological videos I had to watch in Intro, so I decided not to do that.

Which films are you screening?
I'm screening 'Lawless' during my Social Deviance unit. A lot of professors suggested the Chris Nolan Batman trilogy, actually, but I thought that was a little too obvious. At least with 'Lawless', I can have them analyze the deviance exhibited by the Bondurant boys, law enforcement, gangsters, even Maggie and Bertha, as well as how the deviance of bootleggers eventually led to social change and why. In addition to that, I'm showing 'Warrior' at the end of the quarter and having my students analyze the film focusing on their knowledge of certain social institutions (re: family), total institutions (re: military), violent subcultures/countercultures (re: MMA) and the struggle of resocialization after returning from the military, as well as the resocialization that happens when one is recovering from an addiction.
