Here’s an out of context screencap of Jotaro punching through the fkn ground cause this is and always will be funny shit
could i please get an angsty scenario of 4taro leaving for "work", but in the process neglectng wife s/o and jolyne again? please include arguing, tears and threatens of divorce, THANK YOU, I LIKE BEING SAD
Your husband was not, by nature, warm or loving.
That didn’t mean he didn’t have the capability to be romantic - you had a bedside drawer full of seashells he’d found on the shore and brought to you and an abundance of fancier and more expensive gifts stowed away - but just that it did not come naturally to him. He has always been mysterious. At college, girls chased after him, longing to know the story behind his wide shoulders and dark blue eyes and the low, gruff voice. You’d been amazed when he’d picked you, and you hadn’t lost that amazement as you stayed together, and he proposed, and as you looked at the little bundle in your arms and Jotaro had said decisively; “Jolyne.”
You’d always known that his work would take him on long, lonely trips. You lived near the ocean, yes, but Jotaro was good at his work and sought after and the phone often rang with people asking to speak to a ‘Doctor Jotaro Kujo on a matter of great urgency’. He was always terrible at saying no when sea creatures were involved. Jolyne’s very first pet had been the most spoilt goldfish that had ever lived, and Jotaro had cried more than her when it had died. You’d thought you’d be able to handle it. A few months away out of the year was nothing compared to having the rest of your life with the man you loved more than anything, surely?
You had forgotten how difficult Jotaro found it to actually speak to you.
This was too much.
Jotaro had only gotten in from his last expedition three days ago, and he had spent the forty eight hours since returning splayed out on the bed, occasionally moving to ruffle Jolyne’s hair when she came into the bedroom or to mumble an answer to her questions. He’d finally dragged himself out of the bed yesterday and proceeded to tell you he was too tired to go out for the dinner that he’d booked for you both months ago, and now …
This was too much.
“I’m leaving in two days,” he’d said, as if it were already decided and nothing you could say would change his mind. “I’ll be in Japan. I’ll visit my mother whilst I’m there.”
“Jotaro–”
He looks up at you, shadows still rimming his blue eyes.
“I can’t help it,” he says, shrugging. “I’m sorry it’s so soon, but–”
“Jotaro, surely you can just say no.” He blinks at you, slowly.
“I could,” he replies, gruffly. “I’m not going to, though.”
God, why was he so stubborn? Surely he could see that it was killing you not having him by your side. Jolyne had cried every night the past week because she wanted Daddy to read her The Little Mermaid, she was tired of hearing her mother do it.
“I could really do with your help–” you try and say, laying a hand on his arm, but it appears you telling him to just say no to whoever it is who’s requesting his presence has struck a sour note, and he shakes your hand away.
“You’ll be fine. You always are.”
You suddenly find that you’re seeing stars, burning with blind rage. When you speak, your voice comes out strained and clipped.
“What other choice do I have?” He shrugs.
“You’re a grown woman,” he says, “you can look after a little girl.”
Tears spring unbidden into your eyes as you snap out;
“How would you know? It’s not like you ever do it!”
You wish that when you and Jotaro argued, he would raise his voice and shout and scream a bit. You see Jolyne’s little face peek out from behind a door and realize that you’re shouting - Jotaro is looking at you, deeply unimpressed by your display. God, why can’t he just scream at you? Why is he always so … stoic? You sometimes wonder if Jotaro cares at all.
“Go into the sitting room and watch TV, Jojo,” you say to your daughter, gently, when it becomes clear that Jotaro is going to do nothing about it. “Mommy and Daddy are just talking, that’s all.”
Jolyne turns eyes on Jotaro and demands;
“Are you leaving again, Daddy?” Jotaro just gives her a small nod, and her face falls. You’d be surprised if Jotaro even noticed how the sparkle in her eye fades at the knowledge that he’ll only be here a day or two more. He never seems to notice anything that isn’t about his job. She quietly closes the door behind her.
“See!” Your throat is dry and tears are falling down your face with reckless abandon now. “You’re upsetting Jolyne! You’re upsetting me! You never think of anyone else in this family–”
“Stop crying,” Jotaro grunts. “You know I don’t like it.”
You throw your hands up in the air in frustration.
“Of course I’m crying! I can’t fucking take this for much longer, Jotaro! It’s like I’m a fucking single parent here! You’re never in, and when you are all you do is sleep, Jolyne barely knows you, you don’t even tell me where you’re going half of the time– Jesus fucking Christ, if you’re going to say ‘Japan’ in that one-note way you do right now I swear to God–”
“You’re talking too loudly.” Jotaro’s voice and stare is blank. You realize that your voice has devolved mainly into wails, now, and you find yourself sagging against the kitchen island, voice hoarse from being both raised and from crying.
“Please don’t go,” you say to him, sounding pathetic even as you do. “I can’t carry on like this – I don’t want to divorce… but … we need to do what’s best for Jolyne…”
Jotaro stands up. There isn’t even a glimmer of unshed tears in his eye; he is as solid and unmoving as a mountain. Like always.
“We’ll talk about it when I get back.”
I have been consuming far too much Jojo content
What I wanna know is HOW THE HELL was Jotaro able to write a thesis for his doctorate while shepherding a gaggle of high schoolers around, handling the financial bits of Josuke as one of Joseph's heirs, and hunting down a serial killer??
