Daily Journal #11
Getting to this some hours late because of my social engagement last night. They were a nice person, there was zero attraction (at least on my end), and we might start a barbershop quartet, which I've been wanting to do for some time anyway.
Yesterday I decided that I'm going to start a new hobby. I need a hobby that I can engage in by myself that doesn't cost a lot of money and doesn't involve a steep learning curve. And so, I decided I'm going to get a decent computer and start listening to new musicians and songs I've never heard and categorizing them based on various criteria for no reason other than that it's fun and I'm good at it.
A coworker who had been upset with me (admittedly for good reason-- even though I'd apologised, and my rudeness was unintentional and the result of a sensory meltdown, I had been very rude to him) seems to have forgiven me and is talking to me again. I am grateful.
Pages from my journal, 2019.
“I gave up three times today - and pulled myself together again” was inspired by the song Bloodstream by The Chainsmokers
“My heart is stronger now, because you’re in it” comes from the Ghibli movie Arietty.
“Love comes at the speed of sound” is inspired by the song Speed of Sound by Coldplay and the quote “One the whole, love comes with the speed of light; separation with that of sound.” by Joseph Brodsky from his book Watermark.
Pages from my journal, 2019.
Lyrics are from Champion of the World, my favourite song of the new Coldplay album.
