Welcome!

This is where I will share my ongoing progress in creating my own version of the Supernatural's John Winchester Journal - dedicated to and for my partner who is a die-hard fan of the show (She is only on her 5th run through of it's 15 seasons...or is it 6 now? I lose track sometimes...)

First off I think it is fair to say that I don't think I would have had the motivation to do this if it was not for the other blogs and content around the net that others have generously shared relating to their versions of the Journal.

I want to tag them here to give credit where credit is due, but not without permission first of course.

I have been working on the Journal for a little over two weeks now and I have surprisingly got together a fair amount over that time. I have taken pictures and will post the progress when I have some organisation and structure (I'm a little all over the place with projects I work on sometimes....)

I'm also happy to post about related Supernatural content, props etc. my partner has accumulated and continues with.

The reason behind sharing all this is motivated from other blogs/content online and I'm looking forward to sharing our personal world and journey of all related Supernatural content with you.

I started recreating John Winchesters journal after getting the journal from conquest I wanted to make it more authentic so here are some of my favorite hand written pages I’ve done so far! My main sources are screenshots from episodes and I’ve made some of my own pages such as the cursed objects page, hoodo, salt and Samuel occult from the Alex Irvine book “John Winchester’s journal” and David Reeds “Bobby Singer’s Guide to hunting”! I have some more pages to share and will continue to update on this project :) it’s been such a relaxing and fun hobby!

Third part of my Uncharted 3 journal, including all Lawrence pages in-game pages, that I did on separate paper, aged and glued to my journal, because I assumed Nate would not copy them by hand.

All characters belong to Naughty Dog, this is done just for fun and no copyright infringement is intended

Wohoo! Tapestry in the Jerusalem Chamber!

Yay! I finally found the original vintage postcard which is used in the journal!!! =D

I was able to get the whole original postcard set which this one was part of. These sets were first sold back in November 1935! That’s just awesome! ❤️

Here you see the original postcard below my prop made one in my journal ;)

I think in the original prop they used a print as well. In different screencaps you can see that the front motive is used on both sides of the card - or, for even more fun from the prop department, it's just upside down...:

Also I found a vintage real photograph set, where the postcard motive was used as well:

Couldn’t find out the exact date, but I think it could be from the 1930s as well.

Aren’t these just beautiful? =) I’m so happy I finally found it!!! ❤️

World Wide SuberRib

FINALLY found out about the correct binder mechanism used in the prop!! =D

On these here:

You see a little writing on the left - not very good to read.

It really took me a while to decipher that this says SuperRib and a little research showed that it is also from the brand World Wide.

Also on this one there are these little stacks before and after of every of the three rings:

I’m not sure if this exact kind is used in every single prop of the show, but I’m pretty sure it’s the one used in the one shown above ;)

In my replica:

The ring size itself should be 1.25″ I think. But no guarantee... Hope this helps everyone who makes one themselves =)

Jerome Studios

By now I found three different Jerome photo folders with the correct front. Just the back shows different words and photo sizes. That’s very interesting! =) And I’m totally addicted to this vintage beauties ❤️

The folder on the upper left of my above photos is the one used in the prop:

Genuine Bobby pages

I wanted to make the pages from Bobby’s journal for a while and finally found time to make them =)

My first spread:

We see it in S08E06 - Southern Comfort, where Garth is reading some of the text:

The two articles are real aricles for a change and fit to the ghost topic of the pages ;) The large one with the heading “Bachelor's Grove Cemetery Hauntings” is back from January 8th 2009 and is about a abandoned cemetery, which is said to be haunted. I found the article on google sites. The small one with the heading “A Ghost In Our Midst” is back from August 22nd or 24th 2010 and is about a haunted hotel named “Copper Queen”. I found the article on pressreader.com, ismaili.net and ghost-ghost roam.

For everyone who is going to recreate Bobby’s pages, too, here is a very, very interesting and helpful hint: While researching the texts I found out that the font on these pages actually is NOT handwritten ;) It is a beautiful font called “Sunshine In My Soul” - thanks to the infos on the german pages of supernatural.fandom.com! And it’s free for downloading =) When I find enough time, I'll maybe make Bobby's leather journal as well ;)
