As Election Day draws nearer, I’m going to start keeping a running tally of how many times a day our political columnist shouts some sort of curse word.
My theory is the closer Election Day gets, the more he curses. And on actual Election Day, it’ll just be a free for all.
our city reporter wrote a story about how the city council is going at it over a resident’s port-a-potty that he keeps on his front lawn for homeless people to use, but it’s apparently against code.
so of course, my first response was, “is it the city’s No. 1 problem?”

After spending a week away from the newsroom and coming back to an inbox that made me want to jump off the top of the building, I’ve gotten a lot more ruthless with my filters.
If you’re a PR person and you want to talk to me, you better have a DAMN good reason otherwise your email is going straight in the tiny trashcan before it makes it anywhere near my inbox.
It is truly one of the most disconcerting experiences when someone you don't know walks up to you and greets you by name because they know you via the small network that is your career.
Sorry I haven’t been as active on Tumblr for the past couple of days as I usually am. Been working like mad, and probably won’t resurface until the conventions are over.
If you message me between now and next Thursday, I might not get to it immediately, but I promise I will get to it!
