What do you think of Joyofsatan.org? Is it a good witchcraft resource?
They claim to follow the pre-Christian Sumerian God Enki-Satan and they’re the largest Satanist group in the world.
I'm not going to lie, this is my first hearing about it, but after a cursory glance... I don't trust it. Ignoring the corny early 2000's graphics, there are a lot of red flags. While it claims to be based in history and research, just in the main page and page about Satan, they have a lot of information that makes me believe otherwise.
First off, they say "He is the Top Leader of the Nordic Gods of the Empire of Orion." I've done some cursory research, and Orion is a Greek myth, with no mention of the name in Nordic/Norse mythology. Plus, they claim that he is of Sumerian origin, which also seems strange that they would link him to Norse mythology.
Second, they claim Satan as the One True God, despite relating him to Enki, who is(again, from my research) part of a fairly large group, and in no myths that I can find considered the "leader". They seem to make a habit of claiming other deities without any true knowledge of them.
Third, their description of Satan seems to be purely based on UPG, and I can't find any listing of sources.
Fourth, after a cursory glance of their "forums" (which seems to be mostly one person posting, I assume the founder, leading me to think their claim of being the "largest satanist organization" may not be true) I am... Upset. They have said COVID is just a fear tactic(my father in law just died due to COVID complications, perfectly healthy otherwise. Please stop.) and said the vaccine is dangerous and spoke to the microchip theory (ugh). They also speak of the end times and how "people will want to convert, but it will be too late". Overall, it seems to be a mirror of fundamentalist Christianity.
Though they claim to be unrelated to Christianity, they seem to spend half their time attacking it(and Judaism, though mostly in a "it's the same thing" way, so. Bonus points for vague antisemitism).
Overall, it seems to be one person's attempt at making a religion, and seems to have cult-y vibes. Definitely not a reliable source, probably dangerous. If anyone has more info, I'd love to hear it!
