Promotion I Evan and JP

He’d given him some time after the wedding, waited for the appropriate moment to have a serious talk about the state of their respective countries. After all, the man deserved some wedded bliss before they got back to business. Still, as much as he would like it the matter couldn’t wait forever so after five days here he was, knocking on the new king’s door. 

The king would be receptive, or at least that’s what Evan believed based on his personal relationship with him. Still, he felt a bit a nervousness in the pit of his stomach. At the king’s approval, he entered the king’s office, bowing as was customary to a king on his own land. After all, if negotiations were to go well it didn’t hurt to be as respectful as possible. 

Still, as soon as he righted his posture his mouth quirked into a smile. “So, how are you enjoying your new promotion?”

May stepped up to the edge of the bar, a smile breaking out over her features as she noticed the young man standing next to her. “JP!” she said, grinning at him, enthusiasm genuine as she put a hand on his upper arm in greeting. They had met, officially, at some rooftop bar Quico had  invited her to, where the drinks had been too strong for her liking. But it was also where she’d made an unlikely friend. Her eyes landed on the half-empty glass in his hand. “How’s the egg nog? I’ve never had it before, but I figure I should try it.”

[pm] Yes! That'd be me. Good to know, I love me an old and used copy of a book. Shows that it's been loved. Fair enough. It is a bit of a slow read, until the end of course. Writers those days loved to rush endings. Some process! [User is lying]

Just as you can appreciate an old book, I can always appreciate a slow read. I know some people find it boring but I like the slow build to conflict. [...] That's good to hear. I meant what I said, by the way. I would be happy to read it over for you when you're done.

[pm] Soooo ... Do you have Carmilla at the library? Have you finished Dracula yet? Do you wanna get coffee again?

[pm] Oh, you were from the coffee shop, yes? If you don't mind my asking, what did you search to find me so easily? We do have Carmilla! Granted, I think this copy has seen better days, but it's there.

I admittedly haven't gotten very far with Dracula. Had some stuff come up. I have two mouths to feed at home now. Any progress on your script?
