February 3rd, 1959. The Day the Music Died.
sorry for spam posting about the day the music died 65 years ago-
It's so strange to think about. They were so young in life and their careers, they could have done so much more and yet nothing would be the same if they did. Their absence changed things, and we're left wondering if things could have been better if they never got on that plane
Remembering Buddy Holly along with Gene Vincent, and the Big Bopper J. P. Richardson and their pilot who lost their lives on February 3, 1959, the day the music died.
Today of course we remember the terrible plane crash just outside Clear Lake, Iowa that took from us the wonderful talents of Buddy Holly, The Ritchie Valens, The Big Bopper and their pilot Roger Peterson. There can’t be anything left unsaid about their place in history and their lives and music continue to be celebrated more than 60 years later, by fans of every generation. Their legacy will go on when the Buddy Holly Hall opens in Lubbock, Texas later this year and rock n’ roll fans can thank LEPAA and Buddy Holly Center for all they do in keeping the memory of these 3 stars fresh and bright. The Buddy Holly Educational Foundation will be running the 2nd Buddy Holly Songwriting Retreat when the Hall opens, continuing their great work in realising Buddy's dreams on music education.
Rest in peace Buddy, Ritchie, JP and Roger.

The Day That Music Died:
Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens & The Big Bopper (J.P. Richardson)
die when their small plane crashes in Iowa. The music world
and fans worldwide mourn...
67 years. I’d have loved to see what these guys would’ve done with the rest of their careers.
Possibly underrated opinion: I still think that the Big Bopper needs to be in the Rock n' Roll hall of fame. You got Buddy & Ritchie in there, so what's taking so long to nominate Bopper?
There needs to be more Big Bopper on Tumblr, so have more Big Bopper
Happy birthday to fellow Texan Jiles Perry Richardson jr. aka The Big Bopper
