Led Zeppelin became an absolute legend. With the death of the greatest drummer in rock history, the Lead Bird of Led Zeppelin ceased to fly. Brian Jones, 27, a founding member of the Rolling Stones, was found dead in the swimming pool at his home, Cotchford Farm in East Sussex, just after midnight on July 3, 1969, 57 years ago.
His death was officially recorded as âdeath by misadventure,â with drowning linked to alcohol and drug use.
The coroner's report noted that, among other ailments, his liver and heart were significantly enlarged by longâterm substance abuse.
He was kicked out of the band, just weeks earlier.
