It’s like. People can tell if you don’t really like or connect with them. If you aren’t truly enamored with someone you will have a hard time coming up with activities to do together to deepen the friendship. Because you don’t really like that person that much.

in my experience the bigger problem is people reflexively assuming nobody wants to be their friend or hang out with them. you have to go Make the Friend and you also probably have to do what feels like all the legwork in creating hangouts. Left to their own devices most people dont constantly follow up on their friends for socializing.

-Communicate somewhat promptly

-Offer opportunities to do things together
