Mac couldn’t have asked for a better set-up. An unaware brother stands with his back to him, and there’s even an audience who he can only presume are JP’s colleagues. He was asking for it, really. 

“Heads!” Mac calls out as he slaps the back of JP’s head, letting out an all too amused chuckle. “Down low!” A string of undercut punches attack JP’s torso, Mac adding special sound effects with his own lips, as he proceeds to quote his favourite film, imitating Sylvester Stallone’s low, guttural voice. “It really don't matter if I lose this fight. It really don't matter if this guy opens my head, either. 'Cause all I wanna do is go the distance.” It was funny ten years ago, and it’s still funny now. If only Eivind was here.

hc + family

If there’s something Daniel loves more than the Navy, this is his family. He grew up surrounded by his parents’ love and when his little sister joined the family, the love between the Mortensen family members grew even more. Despite his grandparents’ not exactly being in the picture and thanks to his parents’ hippy ideas, Daniel was taught that family didn’t exactly match with blood relatives – in fact, it could be anyone. However, he’s never been able to consider anyone that wasn’t his actual family, “family”. It’s just hard.

He was incredibly happy when he created his own family. Diana and Abbie were his world and never in a million years could he ever imagine that this could end. Yet it happened and after his divorce Daniel questioned the meaning of family, not understanding how something so important and solid could be ruined so quickly.

Right now, his mother and his sister are his family. He loves them dearly and all he wants to do is protect them, even if he’s almost never around.

hc + scared

Daniel doesn’t get scared easily. Being a Navy SEAL definitely contributed to making him able to face anything bad, whether it’s war, secret missions, terrorists and death in general which can be described from others as him being cold. The way he reacts to anything may make you think that he’s heartless and extremely cold, but he really isn’t, he just doesn’t show his affection or soft side to anybody. One of the first things he learned when he joined the Navy was that he must be able to listen to his mind rather than his heart. 

The only time he was genuinely scared was when he received the phone that changed his life forever. Knowing that something bad had happened to his daughter really put his mind and him as a person to the test. He didn’t even know how he was supposed to react or do; he tried to do what he learned during his first years in the Navy but it wasn’t easy because this was something they didn’t teach him. That day, however, made him realize how much he hates being scared so since then he’d tried his best not to put himself or his family into any situation that might make him feel scared.

hc + tiring

headcanons ! 

So, obviously Aaron gets tired just like every other person, but he’s been known to be very committed to his work. As a lawyer, he was very diligent primarily because he expects a lot from himself, and therefore wants his work to be as top notch as possible. 

When he does get tired, he usually works through it until the quality of his work is to his satisfaction. Or, perhaps it’s more accurate to say that he doesn’t really feel the fatigue because he’s so engrossed in work. 

This has also caused him some overworking problems, but only recently. Before, during law, he could usually get his work done to his satisfaction within a reasonable time. Now, the work doesn’t stop. Still, Aaron doesn’t mind the routine of it.

hc + rage

By nature, Brielle is pretty even-keeled. She typically calm, cool, and collected, but their are a few specific things that get under her nerves and fires up her rage. When enraged, Bri is insanely productive, she gets into this mode of blind-competitiveness with herself (or whoever is around) and out of anger, gets shit done. The fastest way to ignite Brielle’s rage is by attacking or questioning her intellect, a sure-fire way to get her going. Bri also has a tendency to internally rant when enraged, which if she’s simultaneously writing, translates into long-winded articles with an excess of adjectives.

she loves justin like he was her brother ( was in love with him when they first met? a little! he happens to look like matt damon- i mean) but she got over that and her nerves, and now would trust him with literally anything on the planet. the chances of her telling justin before jamie about something is super high- she considers him more likely to tell her if she’s overreacting. he’s like her moral center or something just as crucial.

and she doesn’t think that his job is nearly as boring as he tries to always tell her, but she won’t pry unless he decides to tell her- she considers it a trust thing.
