My extremely belated review of the #americanduchessguideto18thcenturydressmaking : it’s super helpful!! I made a 1780s Italian gown using the #jpryanpattern (silk lined in linen) and then made a silk petticoat, a linen split bum, and a cap and fichu according to the instructions in the book. I think the cap has updated info now (mine turned out too small, lol). I wasn’t super happy with this ensemble when I finished it last year, but I dug it out of its box today, put it on, and actually really enjoyed wearing it around for photos. Time heals all wounds, I guess 😂 I want to make a 1740s wool gown next... #18thcentury #18thcenturyfashion #historicalcostuming #italiangown #sewing ✨ Earrings by @dames_a_la_mode / shoes by @americanduchess / and my stays are using the old AD stays pattern by @simplicity_creative_group as well! https://www.instagram.com/p/B3Cd81mAAL-/?igshid=61ca7ma5cohy
