❝ This is all kinds of messed up. ❞
It wasn’t a pretty sight. Of course it wasn’t; she was rarely called into the pleasant nooks and crannies of the city. But this, this was one of the uglier ones, and it was difficult, even for someone like her who was so used to seeing blood and gore.
“I’m sorry for your loss.” She started, solemnly. It was one of Hyunwoo’s undercover officers. She wasn’t too familiar with the victim’s background, but she could conclude that perhaps he was new; he was young and so, perhaps not as experienced. Of course, as part of the SPD, the risk of death was always there, it was part of the job, especially for the undercover department. But being used to send a message to the SPD like that, that was horrific, and no one should have to see a comrade in such a state. No one should have the image of a friend’s body mutilated beyond recognition stuck in their head. Not even the commanding lieutenant, Lee Hyunwoo.
“Listen, we already have a near certain identification that it’s Officer Do Kangin. Now unless his fingerprints have been tampered with for his mission, there is no more identification needed.” She pursed her lips into a thin line. This wasn’t simple to talk about, and she had to consider her words. “Believe me, you don’t want the last image you have of him to be this. Leave that to us, we see that often.” She admitted bitterly, that was truly the hardest part of the job, getting past the horrors they saw. “I’ll call you personally when he’s ready.” She’d call him when the body of Officer Do was back at the morgue and all cleaned up. The morbidness would remain, but at least not... not this. Hyunwoo didn’t have to see one of his men in this state, it would do him no good, and she truly hoped he’d listen to her on this.
This sight... it was simply nightmare inducing.
