Welcome to Just Shapes & Beats: The S3RL Trilogy
The S3RL Trilogy is a series of Just Shapes & Beats fan story comics that are set to mimic the original gameplay of Story Mode while adding all-new twists, characters, locations, and music to jam out to. So far, it sets an overarching lore for Cyon's interpretation of the Just Shapes & Beats universe, which is up-to-date, even up to more recent content updates like The Lost Chapter.
The S3RL Trilogy has been in the works since 2019, however it has not seen any resurgence as of 2023. Initially, the S3RL Trilogy used MediBang Paint on mobile and PC to create the panels, but was recently moved to Inkscape as the main medium with the help of HexaCryonic teaching Cyon how to use the program.
There are currently three stories:
Hexagon's Adventure - Set after Story Mode, join Hexagon, the Fifth Guardian, in his very own origin story and how he stopped an ongoing alien invasion from taking over Paradise.
Pentagon & the Fiveside Force - Set many months after Hexagon's Adventure, Pentagon and his two friends Helicopter and PentaBoss are unexpectedly invited into a great space mission with the Fiveside Force to save the entire universe from an even bigger threat. This spans four acts.
More Shapes + Raves - The third and final story in the Trilogy, and the longest by far. Two dimensions are threatened by the second uprising of the Neko Nation (a group of cat-bosses) after their leader Fresh has stolen the golden Ravortexia headphones, and Square has gone missing. After being captured, Triangle & Boat alongside a new captive soon find themselves being transported into Raver Dimension, and it's up to them to save Raver Dimension, reunite the mysterious Rave Six, and stop Fresh from conquering the best of both worlds.
