critical role episode 31 & 32
- ‘i need four days with you’ ‘then what?’ ‘then your training is complete’ ‘mmm alright’ ‘day one begins.....time to read.’‘WHAT’
AHAHAHAHAHAHA
- ‘w-w-wait dairon has been - talking about me? what did she say?’ ha awww (also those are some COOL ass powers)
- ‘from you friendly neighbourhood healers,’ * GASP* ‘you guys can heal??’
- oh god, this is so crazy hahaha fuckin jester
- ‘i think what his holiness is trying to convey is that he’s going to make a spiritual journey and there’s only room on that train for one dude’JLKFJKLDJSFSDL
- THIS IS THE ULTIMATE TRICKSter SHENANIGANS!!! I FUCKING LOVE THIS THIS IS GONNA MAKE FOR THE COOLEST STORY people believving things blindly, and jester blinking in and out, and suddenly there being super many, and then just VANISHING. is just AMAZING ultimate Trickster!!!! that half-elf is like: ?!?!?!?
- anyway i dont remember the rest so lets move on to 32
- THEY ARE ROLLING SO WELL.
- Matt come ON you could have told them that the cart wasn’t going to look empty- they said that like 6 times - could have corrected them - they’re clearly fucking dumbasses. their plan doesn’t make sense now and immersion break. but Taliesin totally fixed it
- THEY ABSOLUTELY PUMMELED THESE ETTENS
- OOOOO is this where the animals come in??? :D
- mATT’s owl faces are AMAZING. it’s like it’s enjoying it begrudgingly - mrr it does feel good >:( ‘we’re so much alike’ I WAS JUST THINKING THAT BEAU
- ‘you are responsible for this animal’s stealth checks’ ‘get out of my head’ deadpan hahaha
- MARISHA IS SO!! HAPPY!!! (matt really know what to introduce for that hahhaaha)
- i....had completely the wrong idea of the shape of the table
made of honor
the fact that steven spent his entire life creating a book full of wedding ideas for the perfect wedding
‘here you go peri’ GODDD I LOVE THEM
- god i love bismuth. - god i...i like how steven said: ‘remember how rose’s war strategy didn’t make any sense’.
- ‘i thought all our problems would dissapear if we could just shatter a diamond. guess she took my advice....’
- hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. i mean the crystal gems are very good at ignoring inconvenient and horrible problems for years and years and years
- i guess they did.........like i am trying to think of what they were all three of em thinking keeping bismuth in the bubble. pearl understood why Rose did what she did and was worried for Steven? Garnet could not understand why Bismuth would have turned against Rose? and now Bismuth is no longer a threat to Steven and Garnet understands turning against Rose. kinda like that?
- god but they are pretty inactive gems aren’t they like why did steven have to think of bismuth
it’s a lil whiplashy this ep
wow holy fuck The Question was so AMAZING
the characters, the pendulum swing on decisions, the animation of the question, the ‘psst, it’s me, im a horse’ ruby throwing sapphire up into the air
the integration of human concepts with gem concepts to enrich both
god wow, god.
just finished reading ‘the long way to a small angry planet’ and it’s cool, cool elements and shit, found family, different kinds of aliens plus some evolutionary explanation for their similiarities. But the philosophy and some of the emotion was so on the nose damn. and the seeding was purely practical and entirely foreseeable.
The only moments that made me really go Shiiitt
were the Dr. ‘s story about war and the burrowing bullets and his daughter.
and Lovey.
Lovey...
for the rest it just kinda rumbled along. made me think: what’s the plot to this again?
and then i mean what there was of plot was pretty predictable. And the worldbuilding was so.....not as cold and bleak and complex as i’ve been reading (and watching) lately from sci-fi.
All the tech stuff had kind of an intriguing texture to it.
and the Events were interesting for sure. and i also had a moment of: y-i-s when Rosemary made her advance on Sissix. yessss. Intimacy! and the explanation of sex being like a good meal to Aadrinsk or whatever they’re called was interesting.
But it was so.....it was a universe with an authority that was actually genuinely quite trustworthy, expected to actually care about its citizens, and some angular laws in some places yeah but very little crime. the stance on violence and killing as Not a Good Idea was generally shared.
