honestly i got such a soft spot for matt smith’s doctor despite myself

and this seems like a fun episode!!!

so.......why was mother superius aware of the whole thing - had it all figured out - and then let the Doctor on the planet anyway? then threatened that same planet over it.

hmmmm is it just me or does it make no sense that the Doctor just hangs around Trenzalore and Christmas kicking out an Angel or wood Cyberman every once in a while?

like. speak your name or don’t? how’s anybody gonna stop you?

and. uh. why is he growing so old. because it’s his last regeneration....i thought he’d gone 400 years without visible aging before....is it the lack of tumbling around the TARDIS....?

ok so they both have leverage. he can’t speak it because christmas would be destroyed. (whY do the other races know about the timelords comin through and the whole standoff?)

sooooo. The Doctor let Christmas and Trenzalore become a battlefield? like.? justification: every life i save is worth it. ok uh good point. but what was the reason for staying there and fighting Daleks? couldn’t he have lured them away from the planet? if they had to fight, why not fight in space ya kno. they would have firebombed the planet to get rid of the crack? that how it works?

wow Clara feels no connection with her parents at all huh?

with which i mean, why are they even in the episode??? they don’t ground her AT ALL. she doesn’t feel more connected to her own world. apparently she never was! she’s impossible. is it to emphasise that? that she doesn’t belong with them even on Christmas? that she’s running away? that she’s running towards something that’s her birth right? ok cool cool cool. 

Tasha Lem is great but also uhhhhhhhh very River-like. im saying she’s tooooo River like. won’t accuse of same-cool-woman-syndrome but actually i will

there’s so much back and forth! it kind of - like - why??? it kind of unspools the sadness of un-coming death and spools it again, and then unspools it again and then -

Clara’s certainly had three episodes of ‘oh shit, im sad. things are sad and deep. im hanging out and altering events a bit. oh he’s dying. shit, sad. gotta save him. oh, he’s making the worst mistake of his life, gotta cry a bit and change things. oh he’s dying again. damn. gotta do the encourage’.

(WHY the fuck did Gallifrey do that for him - they didn’t even get anything back! lol. never broke through the damn crack)

god Jenna Coleman is really good at crying! i say this completely sincerely that is AMAZING. how do actors do it

(but also....she’s just....crying teh whole episode. or skipping. and then crying again. this is what i mean this is yo-yo effect. it’s TOO much. where right now for 13 i feel like sometimes it’s too little, here it is TOOOOOO MUCH)

destroyed a Dalek control ship in the...stratosphere. with regeneration. i am just nodding along. we’re lucky that 12 was clearly holding back. or the TARDIS is lucky

i actually really like capaldi.

(I just don’t like! going two seasons to finally find out in an aside who the hell the silence were - and then now that we’re talking about the silence - how the hell didn’t every human being attack them (i.e. clara) on sight?? -that was the fix!!! at one point remember!!)

ONCE AGAIN the whole premise (people who are worth protecting - an enormous war as end) are all just threads to wrap up into the mythology!!!!!!!!! aghsdfjalkfkdj

can i just say

i just downloaded sketchbook bc its free now

and holy SHIT

it looks exactly like it would on paper and i just sketched out young beau and i am happy with it and i could draw exactly like on paper and I LOVE THIS PROGRAM IT IS SO INTUITIVE

(because i am genuinely mediocre but i fully enjoy when it comes out the way i want it - but i can’t even think of how it should actually look you see - i disclaim because i am insecure just lemme)

ok but seriously, WHY DOES ANANKE ALWAYS KILL EVERYONE???? im reading the earlier runs of the gods and im just like, whyy? u do this lady?

also interestingly different gods appear during different cycles, are the other gods aware of that...?

i really like how the trend of the gods being people who IMAGINE, who play on imaginations - persists.

clearly innanna was supposed to be a reflection of Mary Shelley in a way?

well uh. ok yknow, lucifer going completely mad is possibly maybe a good reason for killing all the gods. but uh. is that just something that happens? like. why do they go mad? why would they even go mad? The darkness didn’t even show up in this one. what is it about divinity that makes em go mad then
