Another video, another AJ song. Given the time he uploaded it, the Christmas theme of the PV seemed fitting.

Thankfully someone translated the song to Japanese, so I could make a more or less coherent English translation as well. Now I want to cover the song in English, tho =_=

The storyboard was ready a week after Jaeseop uploaded the song, but I didn’t have time to make it. One year later, and an idea strikes me that it would be great to upload the finished PV by New Year.

I completely miscalculated the amount of work I was going to do, but it’s finally finished. Surprisingly enough, it’s fairly close to what I had in my head; I wish I could do better, but with the skill I have this is about the best job I can do.

Tools used:

Google SketchUp for backgrounds - all custom models, except for cafe chairs and tables

MikuMikuDance for pose reference - used Kaito and Sakine Meiko models from AndreehXD Project DIVA rip

Photoshop CS for rendering background pictures, editing and colouring actors&props, and special effects

Adobe After Effects 7 for putting everything together

Actors and most of the props were traced from the reference images using pencil on tracing paper, then scanned

Making everything from storyboard to final render took me about a month, excluding breaks, and anywhere from 8 to 12 hours of work a day.

Finished the fanvid for AJ’s Miss You So Much, yaaaay!

Took me three whole days and a half to make everything from storyboard to exporting, but considering I had to learn a lot of stuff on the go, I say it’s not bad! It’s my very first PV after all. I picked up a lot of skills, so hopefully I will make something even better.

Also, it has translated lyrics in the subtitles! Disclaimer again - I know maybe three words in Korean, so I had to base my English translation on a Japanese one I happened to come by (the only instance of a translation as far as I know). My Japanese isn’t great either, but hopefully there aren’t many mistakes.

Anyway, why is there no fan animated PVs of U-KISS songs, or any k-pop songs for that matter? Do fans just not do that, or are there legal matters and suchlike?..
