I feel for you DeShaun.
Thanks, Jane.
You guys should check her response to my last ask here.
Also Samara's response to the same post:
The cropping could be the best thing in the world, they shouldn’t do it to other people’s work without permission. And I’ve always thought it’s a dick move to repost something that they KNOW is already on Tumblr. Fucking reblog. Feature whores. Bah
These two are angry where I am kind of desensitized, but that doesn’t mean I don’t wholeheartedly agree with both of them.
When I said I was curious why they did it, it was really more a question of why they think a link to my name and tumblr are good enough justifications to edit my work. This is not like the time astratos posted one of my images and got on radar. That was posted from my 500px page, and was sourced there. More importantly, it was unedited.
You’re kind of damned if you do, damned if you don’t with the internet. From Up Here went viral on its own without being featured or going on radar, but….most of those reblogs do not have my short caption or the link to my portfolio, but a link to some other page that says something like “follow for vintage photos” or “follow for vertical pics ♥”. Again, at least it was sourced/shared the proper way, even with the text changed.
I just decided to point out what I observed. Thanks for your responses
