So I said I’d do OC-tober then promptly had a party this weekend for my birthday. I will be posting one more character tonight, and skipping a total count. ((Two of the character days were the same character, just his Before and After revisions.))
FOR NOW, THE ORIGINAL MAIN CHARACTERS OF SAN FAE
Tara Jason
She’s legit a role play character I had. She was also my self-insert of my 13 year old self.
At first, she started off as a 13-year old (whitewashed) version of me who could CONTROL FIRE ‘CAUSE THAT’S AWESOME. Also, she totally wore all blue. Blue cloak, blue shirt, blue pants, I’m assuming blue underwear. At some point I wised up and tried to recreate the character after Abigail became the Main Character, but it was really hard to work with her, as a very large portion of her character ((will be posted later in OC-tober)) was gone. I made her have... Korean or Vietnamese heritage ((I can’t remember what I chose)), made her older (in her late 20′s, I think) and gave her some awesome armor and fighting.
Then later learned she had no bearing what so ever on the story and pulled her entire character from the manuscript. No one noticed, and Abigail actually sustained LESS injuries. Yup. Tara did that little for it.
Dania Cross
Originally Dayne Cross (I think? I don’t remember if he started with a last name), this was my half-dragon I shamelessly took from a dear friend of mine in middle school. The entire project was basically us writing two versions of the same story - I just continued mine to the end and revised all the characters to be, well, mine.
He started off as a Jerk With A Heart of Gold kind of character, but I was really bad at writing both sides of that trope. Instead he was just rude and kind of a bruiser/bully. He wore all black (Because why not), and had black wings with red outlines (because why not) with steely blue eyes.
One copy of the manuscript, I made Blue and Brown eyes non-human-colored-eyes. That made it really weird to make eye colors for people. I changed it in the most recent update.
As I revised and remade, he became less of a jerk and more of just a dragon-preferring half-dragon. That was about his character. I gave him more dragon-like features. Lizard-eyes, a short, broad nose, thick build. Also regular clothes
A few more revisions and a world change later, I settled on a pernsonality that I felt worked - he was much quieter and more awkward then previous incarnations, but whatever, I liked it.
Then one day, I toyed with teh idea of who I could change genders for. Dayne’s character didn’t change between being male or female, so I decided WHY NOT
Dania Cross was born, her features made a bit softer while keeping the original design, and bam. Female Half-Dragon.
Also those are totally talons. No fingertips and nails, just five deadly talons on each hand - and she HAAAATES them
