Called a juban in Japanese, this vintage Japanese kimono was meant to be worn as an under layer. Juban are typically shorter than regular kimono so they make great bathrobes or long tunics! A sweet, light-weight robe perfect for apres hot tub! The print is white on a dark orange - overlapping camellia blossoms but look closely to see small white five-petaled flowers in between. The fabric is an easy-care cotton or cotton blend. It's unlined and has a very nice floral-patterned over-collar. This kimono comes with the obijime cord shown to use as a belt for casual wear. The over-collar (called an eri), is the only part of this undergarment that the public would see when it is worn traditionally, underneath a kimono. Eri are basted on top of a plain cotton collar and removed for washing or to be replaced for a more formal version when called for.
