I am sick and tired of being called anti-semitic on this fucking app just because I don't support mass slaughter of innocent people.
Fuck you for even saying and suggesting that, and fuck you even more for doing it after a discussion you were clearly losing because your information is absolutely and completely biased and non-factually based.
I support jewish people, and their right to their faith and exist. I applaud jewish people for their strength.
But I do not support Israel as an extremist-religious state, just like I would not support any extremist-religious state, and I do not support the actions currently being committed by Israel against the Palestinian people.
I believe in rights and equality for everyone. No matter their skin color, nationality, gender, sexual orientation or religion.
You saying I believe otherwise anonymously on the internet won't change that. But it does make you a bad person for refusing to accept that perhaps you're wrong, and if you don't think you are, you should let other people have their own opinions.
That's exactly what equality is about.
Not me watching a video in bible class and feeling jewish for a whole 6:26 minutes
THE STORY OF JOSEPH MAKES ME CRY EVERY TIME
Genesis is such a great book man.
I had one of the most interesting conversations of my life tonight, with my roomies. People I share a home with.
It came about because I was finishing up my exam on law philosophy and reflecting on what the law truly meant and how it affects our lives
That's when the question was posed.
What is life?
How do we see it? How do we interpret it? How do we feel it? What is the meaning of it?
I know how I, myself, sometimes handle the thought of life on a planet that feels infinite at times, yet is so unbearably small compared to the universe.
I know I like to imagine a few different things.
The biggest one of them is this thing I once saw that described how the universe put us here. How we are all just ethereal beings, eternal in our true form, who float about the universe. Once we feel like being challenged, we volunteer to go visit earth, and choose a set of boundaries and feelings that we wish to battle.
I have never heard a theory that made me feel more content about my existence. So just like religion is a construct of human beliefs and faith, I choose to believe it. Because it gives me hope. No matter how far-fetched the idea is.
But this talk of life opened up a discussion that I am so eternally grateful for. It was about life itself, what brought us here, but also what life truly means, where it comes from, and what its purpose is.
Throughout this back-and-forth of idea exchanging, we came up with more than a few scenarios that we have considered during one time or another.
And now I am curious to know if there are any other people, on this vast earth or just on tumblr, who have considered the same. Because if we are 8 billion human souls on this earth, who all live their lives in different ways, then surely more than me and my three roommates have had these thoughts.
And yet we don't talk about it enough.
So here it goes.. Obviously this list is not exhaustive. It only lists the possibilities we discussed. But I am so curios to find out more.
What theory of life do you believe in?
I believe that life and the earth was created by god
I believe that the universe put us here, with or without a purpose
I believe we live in a simulation
I believe we are reborn into the people we are meant to be, each time
I believe we are handled challenges that prepare us for our next reincarnation
I believe I am the main character of a show (like The Truman Show)
I believe in science and the construct that we are all here bc of that
I believe we were created for something bigger, living on earth is a test
I believe we are a fraction of life in the universe and haven't found the rest
I believe in something else (pls specify in reblogs or comments)
Just wondering about how much religion background Jonny looked at before writing Jonah's.. magic statment.
It's SO FREAKING RELIGIOUS and I don't know if he looked at judeism (I'm gonna assume not? Because language? But who knows tbh) but I feel like I'm sitting in the Rosh Hashna ceremony and listening to Who By Fire.
Jewish weddings used to be So Long
And I mean a 10 month to a whole year process
God can't do math and that's why he hates when we count, and it's confirmed
