It's that time of year again :) Going with a more relaxed prompt list for 2026. Feels more doable than having to hit a drawing every day. Even with the comic in my lap, I hope to do some of these.

Jufly week 1 prompt: gnarled

Jufly week 1 prompts: flurry, treasure, toss

rambles under the cut!

Initially I had a different idea for gnarled (interrogation room) but my friend convinced me to do October 4. Just you wait, Akira... anyways I think I cheated and didn't actually follow the prompt, but the idea was Shinjiro being scarred from shielding his teammates from blows on the reg, and Ken getting shielded from Takaya now. Takaya missed because... I'll tell you later lol. Poor Ken has fluffy baby wings because it's been barely a month since he joined the team.

For flurry I wanted some sort of group flying, and a Palace escape seemed like the best idea! I had no ideas for toss so I just put in the canon Mona toss in there, but I'm not sure he'd do bus form for their escape since they can fly... but maybe a car is faster? Makoto is having the most trouble with even just this gliding down the pyramid because she's barely had her wings long enough to have them fully grown now, plus the turbulence of a Palace collapsing might be complicating things. And treasure is Futaba ofc, I don't know how she escaped her Palace in the game, maybe her leaving her Palace is what caused it to start to collapse, but I needed her for the prompt. I didn't include anyone's tail but Ann's because I don't have my references done yet and didn't want to decide on them now lol. But Yusuke's can be hidden behind him because he's at the end of a downstroke.

Bird inspirations: American kestrel for Ryuji (I considered peregrine falcon, and immediately canned that as I didn't want to draw THAT many spots), galah for Ann (a grey and pink parrot species, it just seemed to fit), Steller's sea eagle for Yusuke (simple and elegant, also very icy, and I want at least one big guy per team), northern shrike for Makoto (small but fierce and ruthless, uses spikes for spearing prey on), and hummingbird for Morgana. Not set on his design but I wanted some blue and gold stuff on there.
