headcanon prompts: dash and gwen's childhood shenanigans and anything about the wonder kids lol

dash and gwen

this is pure headcanon so if you think it should be canon lemme know - but anyways they were each other’s first kiss when they were about nine or ten. not in a romantic context but more like “well let’s just get it over with so we’re not bad when it happens.” they both end up blushing and calling the other gross.

they shovel snow together in the winter to make some spending money. gwen refuses to talk to any of the customers so dash always charms them into hiring them.

dash was always really into valentines day in class, and every year he would make a special card for gwen. typically with a really bad drawing, lots of marker and stickers, and a bad joke about friendship.

dylan and gwen went to all of dash’s little league games. so much so that dylan actually often supplied the orange slices and gatorades. 

so many pillow forts. so many paper crowns proclaiming dash and gwen’s royalty over the pillow fort.

before cell phones, they had a set of walkie talkies they would use to talk to each other. they would always get in trouble at home for using the walkie talkies under the sheets at night.

wonder kids

in college they meet up in new york during break, rent a van, and go on a road trip to the west coast. even though they plan every second of it, it ends up being a fun disaster. they visit a lot of people along the way.

they do diets and workout plans together, pushing each other to finish them. they make smoothies together and all that crap.

whenever they play mariokart together it gets out of hand very very fast.

idk what colleges jules and connie go to but i feel like there was at least an effort to go to the same school

i’ve said this before i think but jules and connie call rosa the token straight

tbh there’s a lot of jokes at the expense of rosa’s heterosexuality lmao

“hold me back!” is something connie and jules hear a lot from rosa. they do have to drag her away from arguments from time to time.

i love them

they love going on adventures together and will occasionally plan little road trips at the end of summer where they drive up to like new hampshire to go hiking or to maine to go kayaking, etc.

watching the sunset together = their shit

they have a group chat that’s about 40% stupid memes and jokes 40% homework help and 20% random facts no one ever needs to know

the name of said group chat changes constantly (but like 30% of the time it gets changed back to ‘jules smells’)

they know everything about each other’s romantic life 

their partners just accept that if they’re dating one of them all three of them know everything

whenever connie outgrows something she just gives it to rosie she’s so smol

they take so many dumb pictures together (too many)

rosie regularly sleeps in one of the extra bunks in the nike cabin like usually around four nights a week

chiron has given up on regulating this

they send each other their selfies for review before posting them anywhere

sometimes rosie and jules will talk to each other in somewhat ‘portuñolish’ (portuguese spanish and english) and connie will just be like stop i can’t keep up

rosie and jules visit each other a lot during the school year since jules lives in new york and rosie lives in jersey

even tho connie lives like a billion miles away she’s there in spirit bc they iris message her basically the whole time

WONDERKIDS

listen these ridiculous athletic nerds are the best

they motivate each other by making everything a competition like they probably couldn’t go five minutes without starting a competition

racing each other at like 6am? playing “friendly” games of soccer that are actually very competitive? making bets on the smallest of things? yes to all

their bets aren’t usually for money it’s mostly stuff like “loser has to buy lunch” or “loser has to carry everyone’s stuff”

also! Connie will make bets with Rosie on what grade she’s gonna get on tests and stuff to encourage Rosie and make her schoolwork less tedious

midnight skype calls as they all do homework and need help staying awake (sometimes with Lotus too)

if they’re all on the same capture the flag team, the other team should honestly just forfeit bc these three go hard af

Connie is the big sister friend to all her friends but even more so with Jules and Rosie

she teases them and embarrasses them by doing things like yelling that she loves them across a crowd of people but she will also hunt down anyone who’s mean to them

Connie’s two years older than both of them and when they reach like “milestone” moments in their lives like graduating high school or something she pretends to get all teary eyed and is like “my little nerd is all grown up”

also she says things like “I remember when I was your age…” and Jules and Rosie roll their eyes

watching soccer games together!! making bets on which team will win!

also being extremely dramatic and upset when their fave team loses

Connie is constantly fawning over attractive women’s soccer players but tbh Jules and Rosie are doing the same thing with men’s soccer players but they’re maybe not as vocal about it

when Jules becomes a professional soccer player, Connie, Rosie, and Reed go to his games with “# 1 fan” t-shirts and signs with just his face on them and Jules is v embarrassed

sometimes Lotus and Buzz tag along too but Lotus is less enthusiastic

honestly tho Jules, Connie, and Rosie are each other’s biggest cheerleaders they’re always encouraging and supporting each other

rosie and jules are dumb nerds who race each other at 5am look at these nerds

The rising sun paints the sky shades of pink, sending tints against the roofs of the cabins where various half bloods are just beginning to wake up and start their day. However, two demigods in particular have been up for two hours already.

“Hurry up, slowpoke!” Rosie shouts over her shoulder, trying and failing to hide her winded breathing.

The other half blood, just about 10 feet behind her, laughs as if it’s the most ridiculous phrase he’s ever heard. “You’re one to talk, Santiago.” He makes a point of sprinting ahead of her, spinning around so he’s running backwards facing the girl, and tucking his arm - the one with a connecting hand - behind his head in faux-leisure.

Rosie narrows her eyes at him before catching up to him. She keeps a steady pace with him for just a few seconds. The daughter of Athena then pulls her own move - bolting two laps around Jules and sprinting off. Jules, left partly amused and partly disoriented (though he’d deny it on accusation), rolls his eyes.

Then it’s it. The final stretch. Both Rosie and Jules can see the finish line - aka the empty Zeus cabin - easily as they burst out of the woods. The big, bulky building with its shining bronze door and white marble columns grows closer to the pair, and they’re still neck in neck. A few times it seems as if one of them is about to pull ahead but to no avail.

The handful of campers who have left their respective cabins for the showers clear a path as soon as they seem Jules and Rosie. They know the drill by now, and they know getting in the way of these two half bloods would end badly for all parties.

The bronze doors of Cabin One, almost in reach of the racing pair, shimmer their reflections back to them. Their hands reach out at the same time. Their feet slide against the ground, sending up a cloud of dirt and loose grass. Once the cloud clears, both demigods are left with fingers against the bronze.

Rosie looks at Jules. Jules looks at Rosie.

“Tiebreaker mile?”

“You’re going down, sucker.”

The flag flies down between the two cars and Makani doesn’t hesitate to hit the gas as hard as she can. The growling of the engine, the shrieking of tires on asphalt, the speedometer climbing higher and higher all make her grin grow wider. Flickering street lamps and broken fences whiz past her as she zooms down the empty road, her only company the car speeding to keep up with her. The finish line draws nearer and she grips the steering wheel so hard, her knuckles turn white. The yellow tape marking the end disappears behind her as she comes to a steady stop. There’s no doubt in her mind that she won.

There’s a quiet shuffling on the other end of the line as Jules readjusts himself at his desk. Lotus glances up and tells him they should only stay up for about an hour more. They both know that they’ll be up longer, doing homework and sucking up the bandwidth with their quiet video call. It’s easier to stay up late hours working on schoolwork when you have someone suffering with you.

The first cold snap of winter has taken over the grounds of Hogwarts. Owen wakes up to his roommates mumbling about how they’d rather stay under the warmth of their blankets than venture out into the chilly air. Feeling quite differently about the cold weather than his flatmates, Owen reaches into his trunk and pulls out his favorite knit sweater. The sleeves are too long and flop over his fingers. He presses them against his cold cheeks and smiles to himself, grateful for the comfort that comes with layers.  

Barely able to open his eyes through the heavy cloud of sleep blanketing him, Zeke squints at Andromeda across the room. He vaguely remembers her mentioning something about a meeting last night as he fell asleep next to her but the details are too fuzzy for him to recall. Taking one more look in the full length mirror, Andromeda turns to leave. A few moments later, she returns with a glass of water and Zeke’s medication. She places them on the nightstand and double checks that his medicine alarms are on. Zeke tries to open his eyes through the haze to thank her, not sure if he gets any intelligible words out. Andromeda brushes a strand of hair out of his eyes in acknowledgment before leaving for the day.

platonic Lotus and Jules!

Who accidentally pushes a door instead of pulling/vice versa - Jules and he’s like “it’s not my fault we’ve been studying for hours my brain isnt working anymore” and Lotus says that’s bs cause she still knows how to work a door

Who doodles little hearts all over the desk with their initials inside them - it’s like three in the morning and Lotus’ finds everything amusing so she writes their initials in hearts with “study buddies 4 lyfe” underneath and jules is like “r u ok”

Who starts the tickle fights - Jules does and it almost always ends in him getting injured bc Lotus is so ticklish and also violent when she’s tickled

Who starts the pillow fights - Jules. It’s usually an accident where he whacks Lotus with a pillow to get her to pay attention and then she has no mercy

Who falls asleep last, watching the other with a small affectionate smile - Lotus! And she would never admit it to Jules

Who mistakes salt for sugar - Jules. Lotus always double checks

Who lets the microwave play the loud beeping sound at 1am in the morning - I don’t think either of them?? Maybe Jules??

Who comes up with cheesy pick up lines - Lotus. Usually when she’s making fun of boys. And then Jules joins in.

Who rearranges the bookshelf in alphabetical order - Both of them. It’s a way of redirecting their stress.

Who licks the spoon when they’re baking brownies - Lotus does to make sure the brownies taste right and then Jules does just to confirm they’re good.

Who buys candles for dinners even though there’s no special occasion - Jules mostly but Lotus will too sometimes

Who draws little tattoos on the other with a pen - Lotus and it’s always terrible and Jules is like “I hate u”

Who comes home with a new souvenir magnet every time they go on vacation - neither of them. they both save their money for more important things. 

Who convinces the other to fill out those couple surveys in the back of magazines - Lotus bc she thinks they’re ridiculous and funny “i dunno Jules it says our star signs aren’t compatible i don’t think this relationship is going to work out”

tbh if it wasn’t for the fact that their boyfriends are best friends i don’t think they’d hang out all that much

they are MASTERS of nonverbal communication. seriously, they can eyeroll, wave a hand, shake a head, and it will convey all that needs saying

this also, usually in reference to their boyfriends

exTREMELY COMPETITIVE

but about more serious things then video games aka sports

soccer vs hockey a lot of the time

they work on their english together i think, because while Marcie is comfortable speaking English she’d obviously rather speak French, and Jules is probably the same with Portugese. 

they LOVE starbucks. both of them have gold cards. they don’t necessarily drink coffee though.

talk to jules about mango iced tea tbh

they’re both good cooks and probably share recipes with one another

both are highly offended usually by reed’s fashion choices and the lack of trent’s

extremely claustrophobic. crowds make him uneasy too, because of the tight spaces / lack of socialization due to camp

he literally has no fashion sense. jeans and a t-shirt are about as far as he gets. sometimes plaid. 

marcie teaches him the way of fashion. she refuses to let him dress like reed.

is Everyone’s Big Brother

seriously he checks in on everyone like they’re his siblings - especially his siblings esp. Molly and Robbie

he’s supposed to be the Logical One of the Fab Four but is really The Pushover

despite his demigod status he’s still very religious (Roman Catholic, had a first communion, and confirmation), and wears a cross. he prays to both the Catholic God and his father/Greek pantheon before meals/bed

his homophobia / transphobia is the result of a religious upbringing and general ignorance. his mom is religious but didn’t intentionally tell her children that ‘being gay is a sin’ etc.

trent can be callous / ignorant when he speaks about this subject and sometimes it’s just to hear his own voice

he almost loses a lot of his best friends (Reed, Jesse) because of his views and he actually spends a lot of time learning and trying to better himself so that he isn’t such a quintessential white guy
