When in Minneapolis we had home stays and I had the opportunity to stay with a couple by the name of Jim and Susan. Their connection to cancer is that just about two years ago they lost their grandson Julian to leukemia nine days before his fourth birthday. Jim and Susan shared their memories with us, opened their home to us,and treated us like their own kids. I was honored to learn about their family and to have some one on one time with Jim in which he shared the following website. I encourage people to take a look and read some of the blogs linked to the site, they are all written by Julian's mom and focus on her quest to find a new normal. Her outlook on life is inspiring and she truly embraces life by exploring the questions we always ask (like why me, and what now) and takes what life has dealt her as source of strength and personal growth. She misses her little boy and I can't even begin to imagine what she's gone through. This is just another person we ride for, this is another cancer story that inspires us to wake up and ride.
