I've been reading your metas of the show and you have very interesting opinions on season 8. What do you think of Samantha?

Samantha was a character the writers used to do a lot of bad things and I think that’s why people hates her so much. It’s not all because of her personality, but because she’s the living proof of Hyde and Jackie broken up and she’s also a horrible person towards Jackie.

As a writer, I can tell you this for sure: It’s unfair the way the show treatened Samantha’s character. 

It was disrepectful to her as a woman and as human being, because not only everyone around her treated her as a whore, but her husband did. He also yelled at her and at her side became a monster, and I think it’s a shame she didn’t got to meet the real Hyde.

Yet, the real Hyde would had never slept with her in the circunstanses we are told they met. We are told he angry fucked her for the long of a month while drunk, high and God knows what else, to the point he doesn’t remember most of it. In other words, Hyde used her to ‘get over’ Jackie and also have his own kind of childish and fucked up revenge against her.

What drove her to accept marrying him in those circunstances remainds a mystery, and I’m sure the writers didn’t had an actual reason for it but the irony of how Hyde was able to marry a random stripper but not Jackie, a girl he was commited to for two and half years, and who he loved deeply.

There is not one single character that actually respects Sam, not even Donna, not really at least. I’m still scared at the fact that Hyde yelled at her and then they used this at some kind of foreplay to have wild sex. It tells a lot about Hyde’s state of mind, at least it does to me.

Hyde grow up in a house were yelling was his every day. His alcoholic prents abused him on daily basic and abused each other in front of him, he mentions this as much in the show and even reveals his mother used to hit him.

So to see Hyde become into his parents, married to a woman he doens’t love nor respect, it’s horrible. It makes me really sad for Samantha, because she seems to actually like or care, or God knows what, for Hyde.

Outside this shit, she was naive and almost innocent in a way. Her voice is annoying as hell, that’s for sure, but she didn’t seem as empty as lots of fanfic writers thend to do her, and if she wasn’t just a way to keep Hyde away from Jackie, maybe we could had have another female character around that wasn’t just there to be pretty.

Me? I don’t mind Samantha, I really don’t. Becuase for me season 8 is not canon and the Hyde from season 8 it’s not Hyde, I don’t care about him and his relationship with her, or even her. I don’t ship them in any way, but I honestly feel pitty for her. 

She has two horrible husbands.

do you have any headcanons of what could had happened with adam and jessa after the finale?

After she tells him she has forgiven him, he realizes this is not true and, more important, that his fuck up is big and he has to prove himself to her because a) she isn’t his second choice or consolation prize, and b) he truly does loves her and his mistake was that: a big mistake that won’t happen again.

Jessa has to trust him again, and even when she pretends to feel fine and be okay with their relationship, she isn’t. She may want to move out from his apartment, go back to hers, he will try to convince her otherwise, but Adam will let her go at the end.

Angry with himself, he may act like the idiot he often is when he is blind by desperation and anger. He probably won’t realize why he is so angry until one night it hits him like cold water in the morning after being so horny for so long. He has to prove himself.

She finishes school, somehow. He still pays for it, even if she didn’t wanted to, and they still see each other and sleep together, and spend the nights in each other’s places, and call each other their boyfriend and girlfriend, and are exclusives, but something has shifted.

To be honest, she is not sure she likes the feeling but she also doesn’t like it when she has to just imagine that he won’t be in her life. She says “I love you” one morning over the phone, he stays quiet and only smiles before answered, “I love you so much”. She hangs up.

For what feels like a long time, they don’t say it again. But she has healed and none know about Hannah at all, and Shosh got married and Adam went with her to the wedding, and she wonders if Marnie did something with her life of kept smelling Hannah’s farts. 

Jessa works and one day fins herslef smiling at her TV screen again as Adam pups up, does something kind of endearing to her in his role and texts him to come over.

They start living together again, after he gets another apartment, far away from all these places where their life together almost got ruined.

It’s super easy to call ‘home’ where he lives with Jessa and where she walk and laugh, and breath, and work, and he is so in love. He tries more than often to worship her and show this live, soon she doesn’t look at him with any sadness, just the every-day smile and messy hair.

When she starts getting some tattoos removed, a great opotunity comes to him, and it would be better if he moves to L. A. but he doesn’t want to. Jessa’s life is in this city and he can’t keep altering it as much as he has already done. Her job is here, too. Everything.

But the city is haunted and will keep haunting them unless something is done. They leave.

She gets a home studio where clients come, as the time passes and oportunities keep coming, it becomes an office, and later it’s a small clinic. Jessa gets a partner, then another one. The three of them manage a clinic and work on seminaries and other things that may help other therapists in their constant work. Adam is proud of her, but more important, she is proud of herself.

When they talk about marriage, they laugh it off, but they have meet each other’s parents and have taken Sample to small trips just the three of them, and she says she wants to have a baby. Just one, maybe for now, and he smiles and agrees.

They have two, baby Bran and baby Laurie. They get married at almost 50, just because.

How do you think is Jackie's family beyond her parents? No one helps her when her mother leaves her and her dad ends in prision, they must be cold and heartless people...

Exactly for what you mention about no one helping her when all this happens, I guess her family wasn’t close and away from her since the beginning. She only mentions a 91 years old grandmother and an uncle that died during season 7.

That last thing, the dead uncle, strikes me as odd since we don’t see her grief nor truly affected by his dead away from firing a homeworker. Her sadness during that episode is more about her break-up than her dead family. Which makes me think I may be right, she isn’t truly close to any of her family members.

It also “fits” the way she seeks company and family so much, because she never knew loving family, not like her friends did, which is also why the way Hyde’s love, support and company became so important to her, because he became her family (and she became his, probably bonding even more because none knew what a true family loves like).

I love Supernatural a little bit more than True Crime because I love seeing them go to locations. And as for a favorite episode... I think the Bigfoot one and the DB Cooper one! And from this season, I couldn’t stop laughing with the Goatman Bridge one lol.

The event was a big win for the fandom in my opinion and I hope it's happening next year because it has made us more active in tumblr and got new fanfics for all to enjoy. Maybe next year there will be more fanartist and more authors to sign up, that would be sweet. Thank you for the event, it was wonderful and as a reader and fan I enjoyed the hell out of it.

We hope that more authors and fanartists sign up for ZMA 2018, too. @jacquelineshyde and I (@those70scomics) are already in the planning stages.

One unfortunate reality of a project like this is that some authors and artists will eventually drop out. It’s quite a bit of responsibility to commit to a long-term project like the Zenmasters Anthology. We do our best to accept people who understand the amount of commitment required and are enthusiastic about taking it on, but sometimes people “ghost” out of it (i.e. disappear without a word, never to be heard from again) or they drop out due to personal reasons.
