It’s been a while since I’ve written you and left it by your grave, but I wanted to catch you up on a few things. 

Firstly, Jacob is doing great. He’s 13 now, can you believe it? Which means it’s been 13 years since he’s been gone. Time really does fly. You’d be so proud of him. He’s the best kid I could possibly imagine. He has great grades, he’s kind-hearted, he is even class president. I don’t know how someone like me could raise such a great son. 

I last time told you about Juliet. She’s 1 now! These kids are growing up way too fast. Her first word was mama, which I think is unfair, but still understandable. She’s gotten so big and she’s getting a lot better at walking without falling. I’m in my forties and still haven’t quite mastered that. 

My class is doing well. They’re still a bunch of shits, but I don’t expect that to change. There’s something called a Tik Tok now and they’re always filming them in my class and making up all these weird dances. There is a virus going on right now and most businesses are closed as people are being told to stay home. I’m having to teach my class online, which I can’t tell if I love or hate. I get to wear pajama pants, but I also can’t throw wads of paper at my students when they won’t shut up. 

Brie is doing great. I think you would have absolutely loved her. She’s such a strong and phenomenal woman and she’s a great mother to both Juliet and Jacob. It takes someone truly amazing to treat a child that isn’t theres like their own. I know that you would have wanted me to move on and I think I did so with the right person. I still don’t know how I got so lucky and why she would want to be with an old cranky jerk like me, but I won’t bring it up in case she hasn’t realized it yet! I love her and I’m happy with my life. 

Sometimes I can feel you and I know you’re happy too.
