July 22 – Feast of St Mary Magdalene: The Apostle to the Apostles
On July 22, Christians around the world celebrate the Feast of St Mary Magdalene, one of the most important women in the New Testament. Known as a devoted follower of Jesus Christ, Mary Magdalene witnessed His crucifixion, discovered the empty tomb, and became the first person to announce the Resurrection to the apostles.
Often called the “Apostle to the Apostles,” Mary Magdalene’s story is one of faith, courage, and transformation. Her devotion and testimony played a central role in the early Christian tradition, and she remains a symbol of hope, forgiveness, and unwavering belief.
Today, the feast day honors her dedication and reminds believers of the powerful role she played in spreading the message of Christianity throughout the world.
