Having a loved one in Israel is weird bcs I have every personal reason to want this war over as soon as possible, but I can't hang around and talk with other people against the war, bcs most of the people against the war in the west kinda want the person I love dead, and yeah.

Look. I know a lot of people bring up the fact that leftists in America hate Jews bcs they hate America and they hate their colonial past so they project their guilt on the jews and so on. And there is some truth in that, but the more I see leftist american antisemitism the more I start to suspect it almost comes from people that deep down want to believe America is innocent?
Like the whole rhetoric abt how ICE or police violence happen bcs of IDF training. The whole rhetoric abt how the only reason why America bombed Iraq and the Middle East and is turning a blind eye to civilian death in Gaza is bcs AIPAC controls America. The whole rhetoric abt how the parties are bad bcs they are ''controllled by elites''. I feel like there is a secretly patriotic part of them that wants to believe that the true America is somehow pure and untainted and everything evil abt America they constantly critisize is bcs of the jews. Which of course is straight up nazi shit.
There is a legitimate discussion to have abt the increasing right wing radicalization of israeli society. Abt its increasing desensitization to palestinian suffering. BUT I don't dare have that discussion with anyone non jewish bcs I KNOW they will resort to language that implies that the reason why this happens is bcs there is something ontologically evil abt (((Zionists))). When in reality, if we want to discuss and scrutinize the radicalization of israeli society WE NEED to first discuss things such as intergenerational Holocaust trauma. And in general trauma from the knowledge that every country in Europe at some point kicked out its Jews. And trauma from being in a state of war or near war every day since your conception. And trauma from constant bombings and sirens. And explosions in buses. And October 7. But doing that would require gentiles recognizing that israelis are human no different to them. That what led to israeli society getting radicalized or turning more racist against Palestinians isn't that something is uniquely evil abt them. It is emotions such as fear for their children and anger and pain. Emotions everyone feels and would feel in their place. I am actually not playing by double standards here. I despise islamic radicalism amongst palestinians and hamas but I am perfectly willing to aknowledge and discuss palestinian trauma that led to its rise. Perfectly willing. No problem.
But yeah, i think it's weird people can't find in their hearts the slightest empathy towards israelis. they really don't think jews are human do they?

I am kinda scared that if this war goes bad for Trump MAGA will look for someone to blame. MAGA will look for a narrative that Trump was forced to go into the war. And yeah we all know where this goes...
