CJ and Edison attending the Sun Festival, from JumpStart Explorers.
In the early 2000s, JumpStart had a brief period of dedicating entire games to exploring certain topics in-depth, such as art in the case of JumpStart Artist, and history in the case of JumpStart Explorers. In both of these instances, these topics also pertained to the mascot characters, with Kisha, the most artistically inclined of the JumpStart main cast, being the mascot for JumpStart Artist, and CJ, who has been depicted as an adventurer and something of an archaelogist in some games, being the mascot for JumpStart Explorers. Had JumpStart continued to make games of this sort for a while, it's possible there would've been games exploring other main cast characters' interests, such as a music game centered on Pierre, or a reading/writing game primarily featuring Eleanor.
JumpStart Explorers and JumpStart Advanced 2nd Grade share the unique distinction of being the only JumpStart games where Antarctica is a location that the player can visit. In JumpStart Explorers, the player can meet a bird character based on and meant to represent the real-life Antarctic explorer, Roald Amundsen, while in JumpStart Advanced 2nd Grade, the player can help Dr. Lucicle by building bridges for her penguin patients.
