Little flakes of ash fall from the sky like snow and Jumper hasn't seen the sun in days. The clouds of destruction and a breaking world cover up any blue that might have once been in the sky. It's cold.
The satisfaction that once coursed through Jumper like a drug is now nothing but a distant aftertaste. She clings to it like it might revive her. Like it could still bring her back from the brink.
Her home, her shelter, her web is empty. No more prey, no more love to occupy it. Squiddo Ash and Spoke have all left, nearly all the Lifestealers have. After the end of the world there is no real reason to stay. She would leave too but she is waiting for someone.
Minute still wanders this wreck of a world somewhere. She is not entirely sure why he has not left but she has her suspicions. She knows she'll see him one more time in this empty place. For forgiveness to occur it needs to happen here, surrounded by the evidence of Jumper's actions.
Jumper wants to apologize. She will. She just needs Minute to come to her first. She needs it to have all been worth it. If he does not want to forgive her then she will not apologize. If he wants to view her as a monster she will let him think her heartless. If he is willing to see the beauty of her web she will take her hearts and give them to him.
If he wants her to explain she will show him how she wove her trap. She will expose her greatest vulnerability to him and him alone. But only if he seeks her out.
So she waits for him. Lights a torch outside the shelter in the hopes that he can see it through the storm of ash, and that if he does he will come and find her.
