On June 19, 1865, in Galveston, TX, the last enslaved Black people were told that they were free. This was two years after slavery was lawfully ended. Juneteenth has been celebrated since 1867. Last year, on June 17, President Biden signed the Juneteenth National Independence Day Act which made it a federal holiday. Today and everyday should be reflection on Black struggle, endurance and achievement. Thank God for progress. 💙❤️✊🏿✊🏾✊🏽
