Q: Are there any members you want to say sorry to?
The building of the National Seoul Court stood bright and tall in the sun light. It was a regular Wednesday morning and people were roaming in and out of the building - lawyers, attorneys, defendants, policemen and other people flew in there, doing their jobs, engrossed in their own little worlds. Some of them were in a hurry, others had other worries on their minds and strolled absent-mindedly. Lee Jin walked on her high heels, sporting her Prada two-piece suit on her lean body. She was holding an elegant black leather briefcase in one hand and a Starbucks paper cup in the other. When she reached the entrance of the Court she stopped and checked the Cartier watch on her left wrist. A young man approached her, anxious expression on his face. His suit was neat but his necktie was awkwardly knotted and tilted to the left. He greeted Jin with a smile and bowed low. “You have nothing to worry about,” Jin offered him a welcoming grin. “Many people get married but later find out it was not the best decision for them.” “This is not what worries me,” Mr. Kim answered. “It’s my wife’s lawyer.” “What about him?” The woman drew a sharp breath in. “He is a shark! And also has the highest rate of wins. I don’t want to get separated from my Star Wars collection. It cost me a whole fortune to get all the figures!” “His rate is the last thing you should worry about. I know a thing or two about him, but more importantly I know how to win Your case, sir!” She said, a sly smile forming on her crimson lips. Jin moved a hair from her face and looked at her watch again. The other lawyer and his client were running 4 minutes late. If they didn’t come in a minute, they would miss their appointment. She gave away a small sigh, knocking a few times with the heel of her stilettoes. Everything about her was stunning - from the neatness of her dark hair, collected in a high, tight bun, the light makeup and luminous skin, to her small frame and piercing gaze. Just as she was about to say something to her client, a tall figure appeared behind him. “Excuse us for the delay. Something unexpected popped up in our schedule.” he said, amusement visible in his eyes. “I hope you both didn’t wait too long for us.” “ Let’s just cut to the chase, both I and my client have other stuff to do today,” Jin hissed and turned away, reaching for the door. However, she was stopped by the other lawyer’s voice. “We have an offer for Mr. Kim.” “What do you mean, Mr. Goo?” Jin asked, her voice still, with some burn on the edges. “Let’s find somewhere to sit and discuss what my client has to offer,” he said, looking Jin straight in the eyes. — “YOU want what?” Mr. Kim raised his voice. His face was turning red. “I want the Chewbacca and Han Solo figures.” Mrs. Kim answered, her voice quiet but steady. “No.” The man said. The answer was simple but unconditional. “Mr. Kim, let me…” Jin said, putting her small hand on his shoulder, the act being noticed immediately by the other lawyer. “My client really treasures his collection. He spent years and a good load of money to complete it.” “And my client has contributed, too. She has personally brought the Stormtrooper and Yoda figures.” “That’s not true!” Mr. Kim raised his voice again. He stood up, ready to leave. Jin stood up, too. “As I said, we’re not here for small talk. This is complete nonsense. If you want to avoid resolving this in court, call me when your client has made up her mind. We have all the bills and delivery notes needed to prove that my client has bought all the figures himself.” “All of them except for the Millenium Falcon!” Mrs. Kim exclaimed. “Ok, then. All of them except for the Falcon. I could easily get that one on an online auction.” Mr. Kim answered, sitting back on his place. “Mrs.Lee, you have the papers, don’t you?” Jin tried to suppres her smile as she sat back too. — A few hours later, Jin met the other lawyer again. But this time it was not related to their jobs. “I told you, Mr. Goo,” she said, amusement filling her voice. He was sitting across of her, swirling the wine in his glass. “I never claimed it would be a difficult one, though! You had it all on a plate. Only if there weren’t the bills, they could have divided the collection into two…” he said lazily, the flame in his eyes burning with amusement. Jin moved towards him occupying his lap. “Well, this means that the small difference between our rates is now… non-existent…” she whispered against his lips before she kissed him. Red smeared a bit around his mouth. The look on his face always managed to drive Jin crazy. Lust, hunger, need… But also love, desire and impatience. They kissed again. He stood up, lifting her with him and walked towards the bedroom. “Junhwe…” she purred in his neck, wrapping his neck with her small hands. When they reached their shared bedroom he pressed her against the wall, pressing his front flush against her body. “Let’s skip the small talk and just get to the real deal,” he said, his voice hoarse. Seeing his wife act so friendly with another man drove him crazy during their meeting at the cafe earlier. They kept kissing and undressed each other hastily as they continued to make out. — “Were you jealous… Earlier?” Jin shot the question later that night. She cuddled in his embrace and looked at him with a warm smile on her face. “Me? Jealous? Never!” he exclaimed. “I just hate seeing you around other men! Why did you have to accept his offer?” Junhwe said, almost sounding like a grumpy child. As if he wasn’t one of the most successful divorse lawyers in South Korea. “How would I have won otherwise? We are side by side now!” Jin smiled and kissed his pout away, cuddling even more into his arms. “Night, babe.” “Sleep tight,” Junhwe kissed her temple and turned off the lights in their bedroom.
