I need to get off my butt and make lids for the 20g longs.
Why do I need to make them? Because no one around here sells them. I’ve had these tanks for a few months now but they’re never had lids because of this. Evaporation is crazy. I’m always paranoid someone is gonna jump out. *sigh* Plexiglass is so expensive. But still less expensive than buying glass lids online!!
I want to put Vietnamese mossy frogs into the paludarium SO BAD. They are SO cute AND THEIR CROAK IS THE SAME NOISE I MAKE WHEN I THINK SOMETHING IS CUTE.
Literally me watching a video of VMF calls is just the same noise back and forth. Frog. Me. Frog. Me. Frog. Meeeeee.
But... I don’t want to spend $100+ per frog. It’s a big tank and I want a good handfull of froggers in there.
Hmph.
One of my coworkers said today "I should get some girls like you so I can have more than one betta!". I love her, but I tried to make it sound as complicated as possible to dissuade her. I think I got her to change her mind when I told her I'm putting fancy guppies in my paludarium and they look just like tiny betta that can be housed together. To be fair, she's gone a long way since she started keeping her one male betta, Ruby. She started with one of those tiny "self cleaning" tanks and I finally got her to upgrade to a 5g about six months ago. I can't get her to put a filter in it though... but she is diligent about water changes. He seems happy and healthy when I see him. Little steps with her, I guess. Little steps are at least better than standing still.
I think I’m going to use my now-empty 5g Fluval Chi as a shrimp tank. I’ve been wanting red cherry shrimp for a while now but never had a nice-looking tank for them.
It already looks really nice, it just needs plants... and shrimp, of course.
*impatiently waits at the patio door for the UPS like a hyper puppy* SAAAANND. BRING ME MY SAND!
Yaaaay my sand is arriving on Thursday and then on Friday my plants AND a new birdcage will be here!
Super excited to spoil all my babies this weekend.
Woo my sand and plants should be here by the end of next week! Now... to figure out where to put all the tanks currently on the fish shelf so I can move the new tanks onto it.
ugggghhh gotta find space for a 3g, two 5g, a 10g, a 20g,and a 1g quarantine. The 10 doesn’t have anything in it so that can go wherever, but everything else is full of stuffffff.

Aaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh. I KNOW it’s WAY more plants than I’d be able to get for $50 at either my LFS or chain store, but uuuuggghhh plants. Why so expensive, plants? Why?
But the tanks are gonna look great.
